Liberty Global has announced its acquisition of 1.34 billion shares representing a 4.92% stake in Vodafone Group PLC (Vodafone).
The investment in Vodafone is part of Liberty Global’s investment portfolio of more than 75 companies and funds across content, technology, and infrastructure, including stakes in companies such as ITV, Televisa Univision, AtlasEdge, Plume, and the Formula E racing series.
A large nonrecourse loan that required roughly EUR225 million (US$241.43 million) of equity from Liberty Global was primarily used to finance the purchase.
