The Lafayette Parish Council has announced plans to develop a new Prison facility outside of downtown Lafayette in Louisiana, USA.

The project will be built on a public-private partnership (PPP) model and will avoid the privatization of the jail. Lafayette Parish will pay the annual leasing fee for the project for several decades, whereas private firms will finance the construction of new public facilities and bear the costs of maintenance.
