The government of Kuwait is in the process of amending its PPP law. The first draft of the amendment is currently being reviewed by the Fatwa and Legislation Department.

The amendment will shorten the approval process of PPP projects, with the aim of reducing the amount of time it currently takes to reach commercial and financial close.

Following the Fatwa and Legislation Department's approval, the draft amendment will be referred to the Council of Ministers and then the National Assembly.
