The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) has signed a lease agreement with Kollam Corporation for seven acres of land in Kureepuzha on which a private partner will develop a new waste-to-energy plant with capacity to treat 200 tonnes of solid waste daily.
The project will be developed under a PPP procurement model on a design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) basis. The lease agreement is for a period of 28 years.
The plant will serve Kollam, Karunagapally, Paravur and Kottarakka municipalities of Kerala, a state located in south-west India.
KSIDC intends to launch the tender for the project by the end of the month.
