Latvian State Roads has announced its intentions to select a preferred bidder for the E67 A7 Kekava Bypass project in June 2020. The Tenderers whose Initial Tenders have been assessed as meeting the criteria of the Award phase within the procurement procedure of the tender notice were invited to prepare and submit their Best and Final Offers (BaFO) in compliance with requirements of the Award criteria. The authority has received two BaFO from the consortia.
Kekava ABT consortium is one of the two consortia which submitted the BaFO. The consortium consists of TIIC (SCAR) II and A.C.B. group of companies.
The project includes the design, build, finance and operation (DBFO) of approximately 17.5 km of the A7 motorway in Latvia. The A7 section from Riga to the Lithuanian border is one of the major national motorways and part of the TransEuropean Transport Network (TEN-T), as well as part of the Via Baltica. The scope of works also includes the construction of a new, 14.4 km-long speed section (bypass) to Kekava - a town currently crossed by the existing A7 road. and reconstruction of the existing road (3.1 km). 11.1 km of them planned as a four-lane carriageway and 6.4 km planned carriageway with two lanes. The project includes also four multiple junctions, four tunnels, one bridge, seven roundabouts as well as parallel roads in the total length of 14,4 km. The new road will be a dual carriageway (2x2 lanes) for approximately 13 km. The rest of the section will be 2 lanes. The project includes 4 major interchanges as well as sections with lanes for local traffic.
