Keele University in England (UK) had selected University Partnerships Programme (UPP) to provide, fund and run new purpose-built buildings. UPP provides student accommodation services. The partnership was to provide around 1,300 students with accommodation, taking the total to approximately 4,300 rooms within the next four to five years.

Despite their efforts to work on the project for 3 years Keele university and UPP failed to reach a final agreement on a viable scheme for the project.

The project was awarded to Vinci construction, which already started some preliminary works on site.

Keele University will continue looking to explore the options to develop the student accommodation in three campus areas at Barnes, Horwood and Lindsay Halls.
