The Government of Kazakhstan has launched its first digitization project implemented using the Publc-Private Partnerships (PPP) investment scheme. The E-Freight, formerly known as Paperless Document Management Information System in the Field of Air Freight, is a partnership with TransInfoTech, a tech company that focuses on digital automation.
The project aims to improve paperwork efficiency for air cargo transportation. The E-Freight project converts an approximately 20 paper document into an electronic format reducing the time to process cargo air flow and handle cargo from one day to one hour. It is being implemented at all international airports in the country.
The KZT3.3 billion (US$8.9 million) project was launched on its online trial on December 11, 2019. It is one of the primary projects of the country’s digitization programme.
