Kanadevia Inova has announced that it will take over the operation and maintenance of the waste-to-energy (WTE) facility in Dublin, Ireland from plant owner Encyclis.
The Dublin waste-to-energy facility, located on the Poolbeg peninsula, came online in 2017 to serve the Greater Dublin Area. Kanadevia Inova, then operating under its previous name, was the plant’s principal contractor for design, build and commissioning. The transaction would not affect Encyclis' ownership of the facility. Encyclis will retain its 50% stake in the waste-to-energy plant; the remaining 50% holding is owned by investors DIF Capital Partners and MEAG. Kanadevia Inova is set to take over the 38-year O&M contract from Encyclis, and also paves the way for an increase in the facility’s waste throughput capacity by 90,000 tonnes per year.
