The government of Indonesia has awarded the Korea Water Resources Corporation consortium (K-water) an order to develop a tap water supply system from Karian Dam to Jakarta province. The project envisions supply 400,000 tons of tap water per day to 2 million people in the three municipalities of Jakarta Province, Tangransi and Namtangransi.
Karian metropolitan waterworks project construction works started in June 2015 and are scheduled to be completed by June 2022. The estimated investment value for the water supply system is KRW 200 billion (US$ 182.51 million).
