John Laing acquired two electric bus concessions

John Laing Group has announced its acquisition of two electric bus concessions in Bogotá, Colombia – Electribus Bogotá Fontibón II and Electribus Bogotá USME I S.A.S from Somos K, Fondo Ashmore Andino II – FCP and Ashmore Andean Fund II, LP (Canada).

John Laing Group invests across the spectrum of development, under-construction and operational assets in a range of sectors, including transportation, energy and utilities, telecommunications and social infrastructure.

Ashmore is one of the world's leading investment managers, focusing on a number of investment themes which include External Debt, Local Currency, Corporate Debt, Blended Debt, Equities and Alternatives.

Electribus is an availability-based public-private partnership project with concessions that run until 2035 and 2036 respectively. The concessions provide a total of 259 electric buses to Transmilenio, the public transport authority of Bogotá, and are operated through a separate contract by Somos, a Colombian public transport operator.
