John Holland has won a contract to deliver a new desalination plant at Belmont, Western Australia.
The new desalination plant is expected to supply around 15% of the Lower Hunter region's average daily water needs. This initiative will extend the duration before water levels significantly drop in the Lower Hunter catchment during severe droughts by approximately six months, helping to delay the implementation of water restrictions. John Holland, known for its expertise in designing and building desalination plants, will start construction later in 2024, with the project set for completion in 2028.
John Holland has won a US$322 million contract to build the first section of the Parramatta Light Rail project in New South Wales, Australia.
