The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) has backed the development of a 345-bed student accommodation project located on Queen Street in Galway City, Ireland.
Elkstone, in partnership with Harrison Street, is set to develop a 345-bed student accommodation facility in Galway, supported by a EUR 75 million (US$ 83 million) investment from the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF). The eight-storey building, scheduled for completion in 2026, will feature amenities like common study spaces, a gym, a cinema room, bicycle storage, a rooftop terrace, and a 24-hour reception. Located near the Ceannt train station, it will be a 15-minute walk from the University of Galway.
The development of Queen Street represents a notable expansion within the student housing sector to meet the growing demand in Ireland’s third-largest student market. Monami Construction is the main contractor on the Queen Street project, with Mezzino operating the property, Development finance is being provided by Activate Capital.
