The Minister for Transport of Ireland has rejected the proposed splitting of the Metrolink project, a planned 26km urban railway connecting Swords and Sandyford, running north-south through Dublin city centre via Dublin airport that may be executed through a public-private partnership (PPP).
Two members of the Irish parliament have proposed splitting the project into northside and southside sections, due to concerns that the project will be delayed by a row over the route on the southside.
The Minister disclosed in his response that another round of public consultation will shortly take place to discuss the preferred route for the project.
