PROINVERSIÓN has incorporated the investment promotion process for the Choquequirao Cable Car project in Peru.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) is set to execute the PPP contract as the contracting entity for the Choquequirao Cable Car project. Anticipated to attract over one million tourists annually to the Archaeological Park, the project encompasses various components, including the construction of tourist routes, central stations in Cusco (Yanama) and Apurímac (Huanipaca), and cable car stations (departure, arrival, and intermediate). These developments aim to facilitate cultural, adventure, and nature tourism while ensuring the proper conservation of the monument, leading to increased tourist demand.

With an estimated investment of US$220 million (excluding VAT), the project is expected to create numerous jobs and stimulate the local and regional economy. Scheduled for award in the first half of 2025, the project falls under the co-financed (co-financed PPP) category due to its limited capacity to generate income covering investment, operation, and maintenance costs.
