Hutchison Ports has announced an investment of US$700 million in two port projects in Egypt.
The projects will be located at the Ain Sokhna Port and the Port of Alexandria. The company's overall investment in the nation will exceed US$1.5 billion with the most recent concessions. Ain Sokhna Port's new container terminal will be built with some of the funding from Hutchison Ports also it will utilize the money to build a new container facility (B100) at the Port of Alexandria. The new container terminal in Ain Sokhna Port will have a capacity of 1.7 million TEU.
Hutchison Ports is partnering with CMA CGM and COSCO Shipping in the new projects.
