Infrastructure Ontario and Halton Healthcare Services have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) to design, build, finance and maintain the Milton District Hospital redevelopment project.
This project will focus on increasing the services and facilities that are most in demand. These include emergency, surgical, critical care, maternal newborn, diagnostic imaging and support services, as well as medical/surgical inpatient units.
The request for qualifications is the first step in the procurement process to select a team to design, build, finance and maintain the project. Submissions will be reviewed to pre-qualify project teams with the design, construction experience, qualified personnel and financial strength to deliver a project of this size and complexity. These teams will then be invited to respond to a request for proposals, which is expected to be released in the spring of 2014.
Infrastructure Ontario and Halton Healthcare Services recently contracted Stantec Architecture Inc. as the planning, design and compliance team for the redevelopment project. Stantec will also monitor construction progress and provide coordination and oversight services throughout the course of the project.
Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are working with HHS to redevelop Milton District Hospital, which will continue to be publicly owned and publicly controlled.
