Infrastructure Ontario has closed the Request for Proposals for teams to submit their bids to design, build, finance and maintain the Thunder Bay Correctional Complex project. EllisDon Infrastructure Justice and Fengate PCL Progress Partners were the two teams invited to respond to a request for proposals in March 2021.
The project involves the development 325-bed, multi-purpose correctional complex. The correctional complex will be designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification, with a focus on energy efficiency, healthy indoor environments and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of the Solicitor General will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred bidder and negotiate a final contract. A successful bidder is expected to be announced in spring 2022.
