City of Portage la Prairie in Canada is hosting a industry awareness online session for Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) upgrade project. WPCF treats the wastewater generated by the City and surrounding fringe areas in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, including Southport Aerospace and Poplar Bluff Industrial Park. A major percentage of organic and nutrient loading is attributed to large agricultural industries. The WPCF needs to be upgraded to meet the Manitoba Water Quality Standards, Objectives and Guidelines Regulation for discharge of treated wastewater to the Assiniboine River, specifically regarding nutrients, and to improve residual solids management.
The project will be delivered on the design-build-finance-operate-maintain (DBFOM) model. The City is hosting an online industry awareness session on May 21, 2020. Contact and registration details for the session can be found here.
