The government of Indonesia has announced plans to launch concessions for six toll roads with an estimated value of IDR 805 trillion (US$ 5.3 billion). The roads include five unsolicited proposals for road projects and a highway connecting Batam Island with the nearby islands of Tanjung Sauh, Buau, and Bintan in Riau Islands province.

One unsolicited proposal is received for 32.4-kilometer Semanan-Balaraja toll road connecting Jakarta and Tangeran. Other projects involve Cikunir-Ulujami elevated toll road, 61.5 km South Sentul-West Karawang toll road, Patimban toll road, and Semarang Port toll road.

The concessions are part of the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) which includes plans to build 2,000 km of toll roads. Toll roads are among the 41 priority projects in the 2020-2024 RPJMN.
