The Ministry of Transport in Malaysia (MY MOT) and the Land Transport Authority in Singapore have appointed Systra consortium as Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) agent for the cross-border Johor Bahru – Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) link project in Malaysia and Singapore. The consortium comprises SYSTRA SA, Minconsult Sdn. Bhd and Bureau Veritas Singapore Pte. Ltd.

The IV&V will be responsible for the assessment and verification of the testing design, technical inspections and all certification services to ensure that the RTS Link is technically and operationally safe and that it meets the performance and reliability targets. The audit covers all phases, from design to commissioning, Operation & Maintenance, and all urban railway systems such as Automatic Signalling, Rolling Stock, Control Centre, and Traction Energy.

The RTS link is scheduled to carry its first passengers at the end of 2026 and will facilitate cross-border travel between Johor and Singapore and help relieve traffic congestion along the Causeway.
