The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has supervised 7 interventions for the improvement, expansion and maintenance of the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá.
The OPAIN concession is currently overseeing the project with an investment exceeding COP 217 billion (US$ 55.5 million). Notable progress includes a 17% completion of constructing a 47,139 m² concrete platform in Hangar 2, facilitating the addition of 7 new parking positions and ground assistance areas. Terminal 2 adaptations include allocating 566 m² for waiting rooms, 168 m² for the filter area, and three boarding rooms accommodating 180 passengers each. Maintenance on the entrance to Causeway B included applying asphalt modified with plastic bags for durability and environmental sustainability. The Central Parking Lot's reconfiguration aims to alleviate overoccupation and congestion during peak hours, while designs are progressing for the JW Gastrobar Tower, 4 new parking positions, and immigration area improvements. The airport has increased its self-check-in machines, human resources, and temporary rooms at the international dock. Additionally, 17 electric vehicles have been acquired, with plans for 100 in service by year-end, supported by 6 charging islands.
