Förvaltning för utbyggd tunnelbana, the state-owned company responsible for Stockholm’s metro infrastructure, has awarded Implenia a CHF98 million (US$99.83 million) contract to build the connecting tunnel to the expanded Högdalen metro depot in Stockholm, Sweden.
Implenia will be responsible for the planning and construction of the infrastructure that connects the expanded depot to the existing Farstagrenen metro track. The project also involves a rock tunnel at the connection point to Farstagrenen, which includes a 2,000 m long track tunnel and a 500 m long underground parking area for trains.
The planning and implementation is based on a BIM model (Building Information Modeling) and is carried out according to the Lean Construction method.
