LINXS Constructors, a consortium made of Balfour Beatty, Fluor, Hochtief, ACS, and Bombardier Transportation, has started construction works towards the delivery of the Automated People Mover (APM) project for Los Angeles Airport (LAX). The 3.6 km long automated line will connect Terminal 4 with West Central Terminal’s automated station, light rail stations, offsite parking, and car rental facilities.
The consortium has already transported steel trusses weighing from 27 to 45 tonnes at the site and assembled them into a pedestrian bridge. The trusses are supported by a shoring tower. Floor and installation of roof beams will conclude the structure. A total of six bridges will be built to complete the entire APM line.
