The tender for the upgrade of Thessaloniki’s Eastern Inner Ring Road PPP is one stage closer, with the imminent selection of the financial adviser for the project. Actual work on the project, also known as “The Flyover” is not expected to begin until early 2022.

This project includes the development of 13 km long highway, involving the construction of following sections:

• Upgrading of the 9.5 km long section from Level Junction -K5 (area of ​​Papageorgiou Hospital - former Karatasos camp) to the area of ​​"GENESIS" Hospital with the addition of an Elevated Expressway.

• Widening of 3.5 km long section "GENESIS" - Level Junction -K12 (connection with Thessaloniki-Moudania National Road)

The estimated value of the project stands at €370 million.
