The Government of Illinois in the USA has selected Prime Group as a concessionaire for the rehabilitation works for the James R. Thompson Center building in Chicago.
Under the concession, the Prime Group will be responsible for preservation works as well as operation and maintenance of 17- story building designed by Helmut Jahn. Thompson center provides 1.2 million sq. ft. of enclosed space formed by marble, granite, glass, and steel structure.
The authority will receive US$70 million in payments from Prime Group for the concession with a period of 30 years. The project is expected to save US$20 million in operational costs to the state.
