The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Government of Singapore have expressed support for the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law in the Philippines through the Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) model.
In July 2019, the Philippine's Department of Health (DoH) has launched the PPP program for UHC Law with IFC, Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE), and Temasek Foundation (TF), and the University of the Philippines (UP). The PPP program intends to meet the objectives of UHC and provide a platform for the Philippines and Singapore to discuss PPPs, especially for the health sector.
A unit of Singapore government investment fund Temasek Holdings will support the program by donating SGD582,282 (US$419,881), complementing the support from the IFC and DoH.
