The International Finance Corporation of the World Bank has launched a consultancy tender that seeks to study the power market and legal regulatory framework in Kyrgyzstan.

IFC intends to explore possible business models for several types of power projects. Specifically, the objective of the study is to:

  • undertake a detailed analysis of the power sector related to the legal and regulatory framework, to understand the options for bringing privately developed solar and hydropower projects to a financial close,
  • prepare the power market analysis, clarifying options, and contractual arrangements for electricity offtake both from renewable energy projects as well as from medium- and large-size hydropower plants.

The deadline for the submission of interest for the tender is on August 11, 2020.
