Honduras' public private partnership (PPP) agency Coalianza has issued a request for expressions of interest (RFEOIs) to develop the CA-5 Sur highway PPP.

The road PPP project will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance basis. The project also includes the development of transport and traffic studies and works supervision.

The new 88km road will link the capital Tegucigalpa and Jícaro Galán.

Interested parties must submit their expressions of interest on or before 21 July 2014.

In early January Coalianza announced that Constructora de Servicios Aeroportuarios Integrados S.A. (SAISA) had got the award of a concession contract for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the new Palmerola airport in Honduras.

The estimated investment for the airport project is US$107 million and the concession period will be 30 years.

The Palmerola airport will be located on a former airbase on the major road between Honduras capital and San Pedro de Sula, just 70km from the capital and a 50 minute journey time, 13 km from the city of Comayagua.
