Caddick Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Homes England to speed up delivery of its GBP 1 billion (US$ 1.2 billion) GDV South Village scheme in Leeds, UK.
Situated near Meadow Road, the GBP 1 billion (US$ 1.2 billion) South Village project has the potential to construct 1,925 new houses and serves as a central hub for the larger South Bank regeneration area. The ten-acre City One development area on Leeds' South Bank is now known as South Village. SimpsonHaugh Architects' vision for South Village incorporates additional pedestrian linkages, extends green corridors that are beginning to emerge across the center, and dedicates more than half of the site to landscaped areas. In addition, the project would provide more than 750,000 square feet of commercial space and up to 450 hotel rooms, catering mostly to companies looking to expand into sustainable new buildings.
To maximize connectivity with West Yorkshire's intended mass transit system and its planned Leeds line, the project will also include a travel center. The variety of residences, lodging options, business ventures, and green space found in South Village will enhance the numerous other game-changing initiatives that have already contributed to the South Bank's current status as an incredibly exciting area to visit, live, work, and spend time in.
