The Ministry of Health (MINSA) has announced that more than 1.7 million patients in East Lima will benefit from the upcoming modernization of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital, “Bravo Chico”, located in El Agustino, Peru.

The project, commissioned to the agency by the Ministry of Health (MINSA), is in the pre-investment phase and is expected to benefit residents of Ate, Santa Anita, El Agustino, La Molina, Lurigancho, Chaclacayo and Cieneguilla. The modern hospital will have around 900 inpatient beds, 65 in intensive care units (ICU), and 78 in intermediate care units (NICU). Currently, it has 635 inpatient beds and 40 in intensive care units.

The future concessionaire will be responsible for the design, construction, financing, maintenance, and operation of the general services of the new hospital. This is a concession from Bata Gris for the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment (medical, biomedical, furniture, etc.), as well as the management of general services: laundry, clothing, food, security, and surveillance. The project could be declared viable in Q1 of 2025, continuing with the formulation, then its structuring and awarding.
