Highway 16 in Jerusalem reaches financial close

Highway 16 PPP in Jerusalem, a project that has been declared as a national infrastructure project, reached financial close and is set to begin construction. The project developers secured sufficient funding and were granted construction permit.

The project is being developed by a consortium of Pizzaroti and Shapir Engineering and Industry. It is estimated as ILS 1 billion (USD 270 million).

The project features a new entrance road to Jerusalem and is aimed to reduce congestion at the entrance.

The highway is expected to open in 2022-2023. The concession will run for 25 years.
