The Stadium Authority has announced that new Governor David Ige is changing direction for the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District (NASED) public-private partnership (PPP) project.
The Governor is canceling both the NASED's entertainment district and real estate project's request for proposals (RFP). The RFP was scheduled to go out by the end of September, and a contract was expected to be awarded by 2023, with development to begin by the end of 2023.
The decision comes as a surprise to many, and the new direction remains to be further elaborated.
