The Aloha Stadium Authority in Hawaii, USA is planning to launch a request for proposal (RFP) for the redevelopment of state land around Aloha Stadium. The authority will publish a two-stage RFP, based on which several responding bidders will be qualified to advance to a second phase. During the last phase, the winning bidder will be selected.
The project involves a long-term lease for the 73 acres site, currently used mainly for parking, and the development is expected to cost more than US$1 billion. The project's area surrounds the 20-acre stadium site and can include around 3,300 homes, 650 hotel rooms, retail space and office space for around 800 workers, based on a state-commissioned market study.
The authority expects to prepare a shortlist of preferred developers in January 2022 and sign a contract with a winning bidder by September 2022.
