The construction of the new stadium also involves the demolition of Panathinaikos' historic headquarters on Alexandras Avenue in the city center, for which permission has also been granted.
A total of EUR 115 million (US$ 127 million) in funding has been secured for the stadium's construction, with an additional EUR 6.8 million (US$ 7.5 million) also obtained.
