The Municipality of Chania has launched a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) for the design, financing, construction, technical management and operation of eight schools in the municipality, located on the Greek island of Crete.

The project also includes the operation, redevelopment and technological upgrade of the Peace and Friendship Park in Chania and merging it with the Municipal Garden through a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme. The total estimated value of the project is EUR40.7 million (US$46.6 million).

The deadline for the tender is 20 February 2019. For more information, see the Business Opportunity. The length of the PPP contract will be 27 years.

This is the third schools PPP project in Greece, following the successful development of 24 schools in the Athens region through PPP schemes.
