The Greek General Secretariat for Sports of the Ministry of Culture has issued a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) for the first phase of the Sports PPP project in Greece.
The project involves the development and maintenance of six open-air swimming pools and five indoor gyms across Greece. The project is part a program for the design, financing, construction and heavy maintenance of eleven open swimming pools and seven metal gyms.
The project will utilize PPPs for the development of sports infrastructure for the first time in Greece.
The private partner will be selected through an international public tender, a closed procedure. The deadline for the submission of expressions of interest is November 26th, 2014.
The project is directly linked to the objectives of developing aquatic sports and basketball, volleyball, handball, gymnastics, heavy-weight sports at various municipalities and their surrounding areas. The project's infrastructure will meet the needs of mass sports and cultural activities, create new jobs and develop major recreation and training attractions for athletes and clubs.
