Greece launches tender for Corfu Water Supply PPP

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced its plans to launch a tender for the Construction, Operation and Maintenance of the Corfu Water Supply Project, through a Public-Private Partnership. The project will have a budget of €146.15 million (US$144.8 million), following the approval of the Interministerial Committee for PPP Projects.

The scope of the project includes an instalation of a SCADA system for the control and remote management of the project and construction of: 

  1. The Melissoudi, Kyprianades and Kalamiotissa Dams, with the accompanying technical works;
  2. The Water Treatment Plants (WTP) of Melissoudiou and Kalamiotissa, including the technical installations;
  3. The external networks with a total length of approximately 210 km;
  4. The tanks: Choronepiskopoi, Troubeta, Strogylis, New tank of Melitia.

The project will address the water supply problem in the whole island, providing sufficient good quality drinking water. The project has a construction period of 4 years and the tender will be announced in the near future.
