The Inter-Ministerial Committee on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) of Greece has approved the planned development of the Havria Dam in the Ormylia area in the Chalkidiki region.
The project is expected to supply the water needs of Chalkidiki that are further intensified during dry months. The Dam will collect the surface water from the River Habria in the Ormylia area. The structure will be 60m high with a 76m foundation and 260m long. It will supply about 55,000 cu.m. per day of water to the Water Treatment Plant.
The construction of the facility is expected to be completed within three years. The concession terms for the project is 27 years. The project investment is expected to reach up to EUR120 million (US$129.79 million).
