The Government of Slovakia has approved the concession plans for the M.R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava. The 30-years concession agreement covers the operation, maintenance, and further development of the facility including the transfer of the current debt services and the duty of the investor to pay concessionaire fees. The Transport Ministry expects an entrance fee for the concessionaire at EUR5 million (USD5.68 million) in 2020, and then EUR1.306 million (USD1.48 million) a year as a fee for using the airport.

The Transport Ministry will now prepare the tender documents for the concession contract. The private partner is expected to boost the competitiveness of the Bratislava airport in the region.
