The Minister of Transportation of Indonesia has announced that the second phase of the Jadodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) system will be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP). The phase involves a segment connecting Cibubur to Bogor, located to the east and south of Jakarta, respectively.

The Ministry of Transport has decided to tender the project, instead of directly appointing a private partner, in order to accommodate all interested entities. In addition, a tender process is preferred due to the increased transparency. The Ministry is aiming to complete the LRT segment in two years.

The government has appointed PT Adhi Karya to construct the first phase of the LRT, which includes routes from Cawang to Cibubur, Dukuh Atas and East Bekasi. In June this year, the contractor announced that construction was 45% complete.
