The Provincial Government of Cavite has accepted the unsolicited proposal submitted by San Miguel Holdings, Corp. (SMHC) for the development of the Cavite-Batangas Expressway (CBEX) public-private partnership (PPP) project in the Philippines.
The project involves the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of a 27.06 km Toll Road from the municipalities of Silang, Amadeo, Tagaytay, lndang, Mendez, Alfonso in Cavite and Nasugbu in Batangas.
Earlier on June 30, 2022, the Government also granted SMHC original proponent status, enabling it to begin detailed negotiations and if successful, to exercise its right to match the best comparable proposal that may be offered during the competitive challenge process.
The PPP Selection Committee will now proceed with the Competitive Selection Process to solicit comparative proposals from other potential proponents.
