The Government of Bahia, through the Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra), plans to develop a new Costa do Descobrimento International Airport in Santa Cruz Cabrália, Brazil. The authority had issued a public consultation for the interested people and companies to contribute to the elaboration of the bidding notice.

The airport PPP project is a replacement for Porto Seguro airport and aims to increase the capacity to receive passengers from Brazil and abroad, as well as transport seafood to Asia and North America. The new airport will operate with regular and general aviation and will receive aircraft with a capacity of up to 220 passengers. The runway will be 2,400 m by 45 m and can reach 3,000 m by 45 m. The passenger terminal area will be 30,000 m² and can be expanded to 40,000 m².

The estimated duration of the works is five years after the start of the concession and, during this period, the company that wins the public notice will be responsible for managing the current Porto Seguro airport.
