The Government of Bangladesh and the International Development Association (IDA), a concern of the World Bank, have agreed on a US$295 million Scale Up Facility (SUF) loan to implement the Enhancing Digital Government & Economy (EDGE) projects.
Signed on January 09, 2022, the loan will be used by the Bangladesh Computer Council under the ICT Division. The project is planned to be developed during a fixed period from 2022 to 2026. The main aims of the EDGE project are to improve cyber security and build resiliency during future crises. It will allow the government to virtually deliver critical public services to citizens and businesses.
The loan will be repaid in 34 years and has a grace period of 4 years.
