Four officials of the GMR Group were unable to carry out a planned inspection of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in India due to ongoing protests.
The inspection was scheduled as part of the bidding process to select a private partner to manage, maintain and develop the airport, which was launched in December 2018.
The Airports Authority Employees Union (AAEU) and the employees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) have been organizing protests every afternoon in the airport since 4 December 2018 to voice opposition to the airport privatization.
