Globalvia has signed agreements to purchase a 55.6% stake in Itinere, owner of six motorway concessions in Spain, from Abanca, Sacyr and Kutxa. The three companies are selling 23.8%, 15.45% and 16.2% stakes, respectively.
Liberbank, the Asturian entity, owns a 5.8% stake in the concessionaire. When Globalvía initially made known its intention to acquire Itinere, Liberbank positioned itself in favor of the sale, but decided last year to change sides and align with Corsair.
With the goal of taking control of the company, Globalvía has continued analyzing possible options for a 100% takeover.
