Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) has announced that GIP Emerging Markets Fund I (GIP EM) has completed fundraising for aggregate committed capital of more than US$2.1 billion.
The Funds’ investor base is varied and includes pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, financial institutions, asset managers, endowments, and family offices from different regions such as North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. GIP Emerging Markets Fund I is specifically designed to focus on emerging markets, extending GIP’s Flagship equity strategy to 11 Target Countries in Asia and Latin America. The Fund aims to capitalize on investment opportunities in these regions driven by favorable demographic, economic, and regulatory factors, along with increasing demand for private infrastructure investments. GIP EM has already invested over US$1 billion across a diverse range of assets.
