The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) has executed a contract with global consulting firm WSP USA, Inc. for consulting services to establish a public-private partnership (PPP) strategy for the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor in Louisiana, USA.
This St. Bernard Parish route is set to establish a connection to the recently planned US$1.8 billion Louisiana International Terminal (LIT). The project involves creating a corridor, featuring an elevated roadway linking the envisioned LIT in Violet to Interstate 510, thereby establishing a new primary route in and out of St. Bernard Parish. WSP, as part of this initiative, will assess potential financing structures, delivery methods, project governance, and stakeholder engagement. The Port of New Orleans is actively prioritizing the development of the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor, aligning it as a concurrent project with the construction of the LIT. Additionally, the State of Louisiana has committed US$50 million towards the establishment of the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor.
