The Government of Ghana is moving forward with the Keta Seaport project and planning to select a strategic partner for its development.
As a way of financing the project, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is proposed to be implemented. The first phase of the project, knowns as Port Nuclues, has an estimated investment of US$600 million. It will include the development of such main facilities as a commercial port gate with the access control and administration building, a multipurpose terminal with a berth of 500 meters and an oil terminal consisting of tank farm and an oil jetty. In addition, the first phase will also have a shipyard with basin for floating docks and vessel maintenance, fishing port, small craft services and access roads.
The procurement process is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2022.
