The Government of the Republic of Ghana through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) has launched a Transaction Advisory Services contract for the Accra Plains Irrigation Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project.
The project is framed within the Ghana Commercial Agriculture Project (GCAP), which has received financing from the International Development Association (IDA) and USAID.
MOFA, the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority (GIDA) and GCAP intend to pursue the development of reliable, efficient and safe delivery of irrigation infrastructure and services in the Accra Plains under a PPP arrangement by a private party. The Accra Plain is located on the lower West Bank of the Volta River and downstream of the Kpong Dam. The entire Accra Plain consists of about 200,000 hectares much of which remains under-cultivated due to lack of investment in irrigation infrastructure and services.
The Pre-feasibility study was completed in December 2013.The Transaction advisor will be in charge of conducting the following tasks:
