Federal Network Agency in Germany has awarded 34 MW of biomass plant projects. The agency launched tendering process seeking bids for 168 MW biomass production capacity plants. In response, the agency received 60 bids with a volume of 44 MW. Out of which 7 bids were for new systems with 14 MW and 53 bids for existing systems with 29 MW. Eight bids were excluded due to formal mistakes.
At the end of tendering process, only 38 bids with a production capacity of 34MW were successful. The surcharge values of the accepted proposals ranged between EUR 0.12 (US$ 0.14) and EUR 0.1829 (US$ 0.220) per kWh, with a weighted average of EUR 0.1702 (US$ 0.205) per kWh. Under this program, five new plants will be developed.
